Error on SearchList load

Getting the following error on load of a pretty straightforward search list:
”Object reference not set to an instance of an object.at FWBS.OMS.FileManagement.Addins.Tasks.ucSearchControl1_ItemHover(Object sender, SearchItemHoverEventArgs e)”
Anyone have any ideas what this might be or relate to?

"Have now found the problem.
The searchlist was overriding the command centre tasks searchlists, it seems the addin must have been expecting some return fields (which I have now added so it is happy!)
