Get the ID after adding via searchlist

I have a simple searchlist with an add button. The add button opens up a wizard and on the finish as expected the row is inserted with the data captured in the wizard. Is there anyway, either via in the Wizard on the Finished event, or in the searchlist, maybe on the button click event, that I can capture the Primary key of the newly inserted row?
If not, would you suggest just changing the button so the wizard is run via some script instead of the searchlist Add action? thanks"
