Active/inactive buttons on cloned searchlist

"Hi,
I have cloned the SCHFILTASKS searchlist and changed the data builder to filter-out some task types I don't want to show.
If I click the 'Inactive' button and there are no inactive tasks to show, when I click the 'Active' button again I get an “Object reference not set to an instance of an object” exception.
Same if I delete (deactive) all active tasks and then press the 'Inactive' button to see them.
It seems that I can't apply the active/inactive filters (the XML config parameter for the button) when the resultset has become empty.
They work fine when there are records to show in each view.
What are the 'Active' and 'Inactive' buttons expecting to find when they are clicked that might result in an “Object reference...” exception?
Is there some additional config I need to do in the Admin Kit when I've cloned the searchlist?
Thanks, Colin"
