Determining Precedent Variables via scripting
Thu 23 Jan 2020 - 12:59
Hi,
I was just wondering if it was possible to determine what fields are needed for a precedent, without actually opening the precedent. i.e. does it store this info in Matter Centre somewhere? The aim being that if a user has not filled in all the necessary data it will pop a wizard prior to the “createDocument” running. Thanks as always
Steve

The document object is not accessible before construction to inject a process to lookup precedent variables before population. There are precedent scripts but you would need to maintain some manual process to ensure and validate the information pre-loading the precedent. To qualify you can create a precedent script that runs a wizard pre-loading the precedent but the enumeration of the precedent information isn't available dynamically. Hope this helps.
