Multiple instances of Word Empty Multiple instances of Word

Since I've installed MC on my Win 7 / Office 2010 machine, I'm getting multiple instances of Word. Turns out that when I exit Word, the window closes but the process doesn't end. Any ideas what might be preventing Word from closing completely? This didn't happen before installing MatterCentre.
